Refund & Returns Policy
This policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds are handled for BlackOwl GPS hardware, accessories and related purchases.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
1. Non-defective returns
We accept returns for eligible non-defective items within 14 days of delivery.
To be eligible, the item must be new, unused, unopened, in its original packaging and in a resellable condition.
Non-defective returns include general return requests such as ordering the wrong item or no longer requiring the product.
A 25% restocking fee applies to approved non-defective returns. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for non-defective returns.
2. Order cancellations before shipping
If your order has not yet been shipped, you may request a cancellation by contacting us as soon as possible.
Approved cancellations before shipping will be refunded to the original payment method, minus a 25% restocking fee.
Once an order has been shipped, it must be handled as a return under this policy.
3. Faulty or defective items
If you believe an item is faulty or defective, please contact us within the 24 month warranty period from the date of purchase.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the outcome.
If the item is confirmed to be faulty, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. This may include repair, replacement or refund depending on the issue and the applicable legal requirements.
The 25% restocking fee does not apply to items confirmed to be faulty.
4. Exchanges
Exchanges are available for eligible items where approved by BlackOwl.
For non-defective items, the item must be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused, unopened, in original packaging and in a resellable condition.
For faulty items, exchanges are available within the 24 month warranty period where replacement is the appropriate remedy.
Please contact us before sending anything back so we can confirm the correct return process.
5. Clearance items
Clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind unless required by law.
If a clearance item is faulty, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.
6. Return shipping and return method
To initiate a return, please contact us at info@blackowlgps.com.au or call 03 9111 6969 with your order details.
Please do not send items back before contacting us. Once your return request has been reviewed, we will provide return instructions.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for non-defective returns. These costs are non-refundable.
If a refund is issued, any applicable return shipping costs, original shipping costs or approved restocking fees may be deducted from the refund amount.
We recommend using a tracked shipping method or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of your returned item.
7. Refund processing
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you whether the return has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 2 business days.
Your bank, card provider or payment provider may take additional time to make the funds available in your account.
Shipping costs are non-refundable unless required by law.
8. Items that may not be eligible
A return may be refused or a refund may be reduced where an item is used, opened, damaged, missing parts, not in original packaging, not in resellable condition or returned outside the eligible return window.
This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty items or other non-excludable rights.
